Crane Hire & Contract Lifts Inverness
Our company can provide a Contract Lift service where we take on full responsibility of the hire. All lifts must comply fully with BS7121 Safe Use of Cranes part 1 General 1989 and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations LOLER. Both these regulations lay down the requirements of all personnel involved in a crane lift.
With us being able to provide a Contract Lift service it takes the worry & responsibility away from the customer with the ever increasing stringent Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities of the Customer
- Carry out all work in accordance with BS7121 & LOLER 1998.
- Provide a competent Appointed Person who has the knowledge , experience & understanding of all aspects of the lifting operation.

Provide Insurance which covers the following:-
- Loss of, or damage to our plant whilst on site.
- Loss of, or damage to the goods being lifted.
- Continuing hire charges whilst the plant is ‘off the road’ for repairs following damage.
- Public liability, injury to operator, injury to other parties, including their property, arising from the crane’s operations.
- Provide a qualified & competent Slinger/Banksman.
- Plan the lift & operate a safe system of work.
- Provide all Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
- Ensure that the crane hired is of a suitable type & capacity.
Responsibility of Stoddart Crane Hire Ltd.
- Provide a crane & lifting equipment that is properly maintained, tested & certified.
- Provide a certified & competent Crane Operator.
CPA Contract Lift Hire
Stoddart Crane Hire Ltd. will:-
- Take on full responsibility of the hire.
- Provide a competent Appointed Person who has the knowledge, experience & understanding of all aspects of the lifting operation.
- Provide a qualified & competent Crane Operator.
- Provide a qualified & competent Slinger/Banksman.
- Plan the lift & operate a safe method of work.
- Provide a Method Statement, Risk Assessment & Lift Plan Drawing.
- Ensure that the crane hired is of a suitable type & capacity.
- Provide a crane & lifting equipment that is properly maintained, tested & certified.
Under Contract Lift conditions the hirer still retains certain liabilities against which the hirer should be adequately insured. These include:-
- Negligence by the hirer
- Inadequate or unstable ground conditions
- Inadequate or incorrect information supplied in connection with the goods being lifted.
